My first post for CollegeFashionista was my Style Guru Bio! I give a little bit of background information, and I talk about my personal style and fashion inspirations. I was extremely nervous about choosing an outfit for the Bio pictures, but I think everything turned out okay!
So Day Three at B96 actually happened a while ago, I just haven’t been posting regularly. Now, I’m getting back on track! Day Three involved more office work and prep for the Summer Bash. We gave away tickets to employees and had more callers pick up their prizes. After I was dismissed for the day, I ran into friends and finally grabbed dinner at the Grand Luxe!
Human: What’s “The Sound of Music about?”
Me:YOU’VE NEVER SEEN THE SOUND OF MUSIC?
Me: OMFG HOW ON EARTH IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE, there is actual people who breathe and never seen the sound of music…wait…I need a moment
Human: So, what is it about then?
Me: oh Julie forgive him
Me: There’s no hope the world is lost
Me: Singing nuns, singing children, mountains and Hitler
Not only am I interning at B96 over the summer, I am also a new IU Style Guru through CollegeFashionista. This blog site elaborates on the latest trends across college campuses. With content created by students for students, this website is the perfect union between my two loves: fashion and journalism. Each week throughout the summer, I will be submitting a new blog post under the WHAT TO WEAR category.
Here’s how it works.
As a Style Guru, it is my responsibility to seek out fierce fashionistas within my environment. Basically, I seek out complete strangers who have interesting and/or trendy style. After speaking with them and gaining their permission, I photograph them and write an article about their ensemble.
I am excited to see where CollegeFashionista takes me in terms of my journalistic abilities and my sense of style. I definitely look forward to exiting my comfort zone in terms of reaching out to strangers, as well as in terms of my personal fashion tastes. I also have to admit my slight fear at producing content for so many readers. CollegeFashionista is read across the globe, and I do not want to do the brand any injustice through my writing. I suppose that we shall just have to see how it goes!
In my last post, I said that it was the official start of my internship at B96 FM. I kind of lied. TODAY was the first day I was at the office for the entire day, learning the ropes and being shown around again. IT WAS AWESOME. Sure, the bulk of my work today involved a ton of paperwork, but each piece of paper represented another person who had won some sort of prize through the station. I was even able to meet some of them and give them their various tickets firsthand; needless to say, they were all pretty excited. Throughout the day, I got to know some pretty awesome people-including on-air personalities Stylz and Roman. Everyone is extremely chill and down-to-earth. One of the coolest aspects about B96 is that a ton of their employees began in the same exact intern position that I currently fill. It’s amazing what each individual has gone on to do following the internship, and I can’t help but wonder where it will take me. I can’t wait to get back into the office and see what more there is to be done and to be learned. Summer Bash is almost here, and I can’t wait!
This is the reason some people hate others.
Today, I officially began my first internship! I am beyond excited to intern at a local Chicago radio station in the Promotions Department. We only had a brief meeting and tour around the office today, but I could already tell the environment was comfortable and friendly. It really seems like one big family, and I can’t wait to learn from all of my new coworkers as the summer continues.
